Job Summary
Special Education Inclusion Teacher responsible for delivering TEKS-aligned instruction, differentiating lessons for diverse learners, and collaborating with general education and special education staff. Duties include developing and implementing curriculum plans, using data from assessments to drive instruction, maintaining accurate grade records, planning with IEP accommodations, and supervising teacher aides/volunteers. The role emphasizes creating a conducive learning environment, effective communication with students' families, complying with district and TEA guidelines, and participating in district professional development. It may include supervision of extracurricular activities and implementation of instructional strategies that accommodate individual student needs; certification requirements and bus/transportation considerations apply when transporting students.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
- Valid Texas teaching certificate, with required endorsements for subject/level assigned
- Meet Highly Qualified standards established by No Child Left Behind Act of 2001, 20 U.S.C. 6311, P.L. 102-110, Section 9101 (23)
- CDL required if transporting students (CTE teachers, Coaches, Extracurricular Activities) with the following – Class B CDL with Air Brake, Passenger, & School bus endorsements; Ability to pass a DOT physical (renewed yearly); Completion of 20 hour bus driver certification course (renewed every 3 years)
- Experience: Student teaching or approved internship
