Job Summary
Provide direct and indirect instruction to students with IEPs inside general education classrooms, modifying curriculum and implementing behavior plans. Conduct long- and short-term planning with teachers and parents to address individual needs, while documenting progress toward annual goals through data collection and quarterly reports. Support classroom teachers by designing instructional supports and acting as a resource to staff, including weekly grade-level team reviews. Supervise and train one-on-one Dedicated Aides, and communicate service delivery updates to families. Prepare engaging synchronous and asynchronous virtual instruction during school closures.

- Must be able to pass a background check

- Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a team member
- Ability to self-direct and prioritize among competing goals, exhibit flexibility, and drive results
- Adept at thinking strategically, translating plans into action, and exhibiting excellent judgment
- Commitment to the success of each and every student
- Bachelor's degree
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at a time
- Must be able to assist students who have physical difficulties
- Must be able to kneel, sit, stand, crawl, push, and pull to assist and teach children throughout the day
Desired Qualifications
- Master's degree in special education preferred
- Teaching experience in a public or private school, preferably in an urban setting
- Knowledge of state requirements for special education
- Experience in writing and monitoring IEPs and communicating with families and service providers to support students
- Experience working with special needs students in an inclusive setting
