Job Summary
Collaborate with students, parents, and staff to develop Individualized Education Plans (IEP) through the ARD Committee process. Implement instructional programs and modify curricula to meet individual student ability levels while conducting ongoing assessments of learning styles and achievement. Plan and supervise Teacher Aides, manage student behavior including crisis interventions, and provide personal care as required by IEPs. Work cooperatively with classroom teachers to assist students in regular classes and present subject matter according to established guidelines. Maintain open communication with stakeholders, file all required reports, and comply with federal, state, and district regulations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university
- Valid Texas teaching certificate with required special education endorsements for assignments
- Working knowledge of Federal and State mandates for IDEA
- Working knowledge of disability categories
