Job Summary
Lead and manage the development, proposal, and implementation of eligible students’ Individualized Education Plans (IEP) in accordance with state and federal law. Manage a caseload of 60-70 students across TK-12, ensuring all IEP processes and deadlines are met. Conduct comprehensive academic testing and evaluations for initial eligibility and re-evaluation purposes, analyzing results to inform IEP development. Collaborate with key stakeholders, including general education teachers and families, to develop measurable annual goals in students’ areas of need including academic, behavior, and social-emotional development. Collect and analyze data regularly to monitor student progress toward IEP goals, report progress to families, and inform future planning. Consult with service providers and general education colleagues to support accommodations, differentiation, and modification of student learning and materials to best meet students’ needs as outlined in their IEPs. Communicate effectively with staff, students, families, and other key stakeholders to ensure strong partnerships and thorough implementation of IEPs. Facilitate and lead IEP meetings as either LEA Admin designee or Education Specialist, ensuring all relevant stakeholders are engaged and processes comply with legal requirements. Attend ongoing professional development and communities of practice to continue growing as an educator. Update and maintain students’ special education records, including IEP documents, progress reports, evaluations, parent signature pages, and other relevant documentation. This is a full-time, exempt, one-year term position based in the Regional Support Office with frequent travel to schools and districts, and is a hybrid role with four days on site and one remote day.
Required Qualifications
- B.A/B.S degree from a regionally accredited institution
- valid teaching credential in Special Education
- experience in special education case management (2+ years)
- experience with SEIS for IEP management
- ability to manage a caseload of 60-70 students TK-12
- strong communication and collaboration skills
- proficiency with Google Suite and instructional technology (Zoom, Nearpod)
- ability to travel up to 40% across region
- full-time; exempt status; hybrid work arrangement
