Job Summary

Special Education Elementary Teacher (Life Skills) for 2026-2027 school year. Teach and develop individualized learning activities for special education students, modify curricula, and prepare lessons to meet students’ intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. Responsibilities include planning IEPs through ARD, collaborating with parents and staff, employing diverse instructional techniques, managing student behavior including crisis intervention, supervising teacher aides, and participating in staff development. Requires a Bachelor’s degree and Texas teaching certificate with endorsements, fingerprint clearance, and ability to adhere to district policies and federal guidelines. Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills; experience with CPI and crisis management preferred. Location: Spicewood Park Elementary, Spicewood, TX, USA. The role involves in-person instruction and collaboration with general education teachers to support special education students. Prolonged attendance and occasional travel may be required.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university
  • Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or required training for subject and level
  • Satisfactory outcome of fingerprinting check
  • Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area(s)
  • Experience working with children
  • Student teaching, clinical teaching, teacher residency (preferred)
