Job Summary
Educational Technician III to support the Breathe Program at Rowe Elementary, assisting the Special Education Teacher, managing students with behavioral disabilities per IEPs/behavior plans, delivering specially designed instruction, tracking data, and supporting collaboration with the Special Education team. Responsibilities include crisis intervention and de-escalation, implementing PSPs/BIPs/ITPs, maintaining FERPA confidentiality, supporting lunch/recess/supervision, and ensuring alignment with IEP goals and behavioral plans. CPI training and CHRC clearance are preferred; a Massachusetts? Maine-based certification process is required. Strong emphasis on behavior management, data collection, collaboration, and professional communication with students, families, and staff.
Required Qualifications
- Approval as an Educational Technician III by the Maine Department of Education
- Maine CHRC authorization
- CPI training certification (or ability to be certified)
- Preference for candidates with a college degree including nine credit hours related to education/behavior management or classroom strategies
- One year of experience working with students in structured situations
- Maine State Educational Technician III (023) authorization
