Plan a program of study meeting individual student needs, interests, and abilities while creating a classroom environment conducive to learning. Guide the learning process toward curriculum goals by establishing clear objectives for lessons, units, and projects, then employ appropriate instructional methods and materials. Assess student accomplishments regularly, counsel with colleagues, students, and parents, and assist administration in implementing policies governing student life and conduct. Develop reasonable classroom behavior rules, maintain order fairly, and supervise purposeful assignments for teacher assistants and volunteers. Cooperatively evaluate assistant performance with department heads, attend staff meetings, serve on committees, and strive to maintain professional competence. Work a ten-month year at Putnam City Schools District I-1, Oklahoma.
