Job Summary
Assist lead teacher in delivering instruction and supporting students with disabilities in a school setting. Provide instructional support and work with individual students or small groups in reading, writing, and mathematics. Help prepare instructional materials and classroom displays, assist with administration and scoring of objective tests, and maintain administrative records. Supervise students during lunch, bus, and playground duties; communicate student needs to the teacher; support substitute teachers and participate in staff development and faculty events. Work involves moderate standing, light lifting, and both indoor and outdoor environments.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Para Professional Certification or Associate's degree
- two years of study at an institution of higher learning or have met formal academic assessment as required by the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA)
- Valid Texas education aide certificate
