Job Summary
Special Education Associate provides support to students in regular and special education classrooms, assists the classroom teacher with preparing materials and instructional activities, monitors and enforces behavior, and helps implement health care plans and crisis procedures. Duties include assisting with curriculum delivery and assessments, grading and attendance support, mentoring students, supervising during lunch/recess/field trips, assisting injured or sick students to the health room, and handling routine classroom tasks such as laminating and copying. The role requires strong communication, organizational, and confidentiality skills, with CPI-trained staff able to support behavior management and safety as outlined in student IEPs under supervision of the case manager/teacher. Education requirement is a high school diploma or equivalent; no experience required, though experience with children is preferred.
