Job Summary
Work with individual students or small groups to reinforce learning and skills initially introduced by the teacher. Assist with devising strategies based on student needs, support generalization in integrated settings, and implement behavior support plans. Guide independent and remedial work, distribute instructional materials, and assist with supervision during drills, assemblies, and field trips. Perform oral communication by reading to students and participate in large and small group activities. Manage classroom equipment, assist with lunch and cleanup routines, and serve as the chief information source for substitute teachers. Maintain ethical confidentiality and commit to ongoing professional growth to support unique student needs.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma, preferred
- Experience as an associate, preferred
- Demonstrate effective communication skills
- Demonstrate collaborative skills in a team environment
- Support PBIS (Positive Behavior Interventions and Support) for all students in all settings
- Maintain the same high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about students as is expected of fully licensed teachers
- Commit to ongoing professional growth to support the unique needs of individual students
