Job Summary
Special Education Assistants will provide positive behavior supports and academic interventions for students, work with a lead teacher to deliver academic, social, and emotional support, and collaborate with a team of general education and special education teachers and therapists. Responsibilities include data collection, supporting students in general education classrooms and specialized learning center settings (with potential 1:1 support), and assisting with small-group and individual instruction for students with mild to moderate disabilities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in special education or related field preferred
- Experience in public school setting
- Experience working with children with disabilities
- Able to take initiative and work independently
- Knowledge of early childhood and adolescent development
