Job Summary
Provides support to students with disabilities in a learning environment; assists MPS staff to develop and implement individualized lessons and activities, promoting student independence, academic and social inclusion, and self-advocacy; helps students meet therapy and education goals; supports implementation of behavior intervention plans, monitors student progress, maintains records, and assists with daily care, transitions, and collaboration with families and staff to ensure a safe, inclusive classroom environment; maintains confidentiality of student information and adheres to district policies.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Completion of 60 quarter or 60 semester credits in Education, Child Development, Behavioral Sciences or related area OR passing score of 460 on the ParaPro Assessment
- Two (2) years of paid experience working with children
- Equivalent combination of education, training and experience as determined by Human Resources
