Job Summary
Special Education Assistant in the MICI program for a Middle School. Paraprofessional role providing instructional support, supervision, and care for students with special needs; assist in implementing instructional plans; monitor student behavior; communicate with school personnel. Full-time, school-year position (~33 hours/week) with health benefits. Requires High School diploma, CPR certification, Ukeru training or willingness to obtain, and demonstrated behavior-management skills. Reports to Building Principal; start date August 24, 2026. Cedar Springs Public Schools located in Cedar Springs, Michigan.
Required Qualifications
- High School graduate
- Current CPR Certification or willing to obtain CPR certificate
- Ukeru Training or willingness to obtain
- Evidence of skills with behavior management
- Demonstrates dependability and promptness
- Understanding, patient, warm and receptive attitude toward Middle School students
- Ability to supervise students
- Ability to maintain cooperative working relationship with students, staff, parents and the general public with confidentiality
