Job Summary
Provide instructional support to students with special needs in pre K-12 settings under supervision, assisting with instructional tasks and adaptions, using assistive technology, reinforcing positive behaviors, supervising social/academic activities, and assisting with self-care and mobility. Responsible for maintaining records, collaborating with instructional teams, and potentially traveling between locations; requires high school diploma and either an AA degree or 48 college units or CBEST proficiency, and completion of required certifications (First Aid/CPR) as specified. Roles include supervising snack/lunch, facilitating field trips, and supporting diverse learners with physical, emotional, or developmental needs in a multi-staff classroom environment. Must be able to lift/move students and ensure confidentiality in handling student information.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma
- AA degree or 48 college units OR CBEST proficiency exam
- Successful completion of Instructional Assistant Proficiency Examination or appropriate certification
- Proficiency requirements as per state and federal laws
- Mandated Reporting training
- First Aid and CPR certification every 2 years
