Job Summary
Support classroom teachers with physical care, lesson implementation, and behavioral management for students with disabilities. Assist students with hygiene, mobility equipment, and daily routines while maintaining discipline during lessons, field trips, and bus rides. Document service notes in Welligent, collect behavioral data, and administer first aid or basic nursing care as authorized. Supervise students during teacher absences and facilitate job placements for graduates. Obtain and maintain First Aid and CPR certificates within 60 days of appointment.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- AA degree or higher
- 60 semester or 90 quarter units from a recognized college or university
Desired Qualifications
- Experience working in an educational setting
- Experience working with students with physical, mental and/or emotional disabilities
- Experience working with special equipment, such as wheelchairs and braces
