Job Summary
Assist in monitoring and instruction of special education students under supervision, adapting classroom work and activities to support diverse needs; help implement lesson plans, develop students’ daily living and behavioral skills, follow IEP directives, perform data collection and record-keeping, maintain confidentiality, support social, communication, physical and behavioral needs, participate in meetings and trainings, and maintain flexibility in schedule while supporting teachers in a school setting.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- 48+ hours of study in higher education, Associates Degree or higher, or an academic assessment approved for No Child Left Behind (NCLB)
- Educational Aide Certification is required, but may be applied for once employed
- Previous experience in an educational environment preferred
- Bilingual preferred
