Job Summary
Assist teachers in special education settings by providing instructional materials and handouts, supporting students individually or in groups on projects and activities, and helping implement lesson plans. Monitor student behavior, support behavior management, and enforce classroom standards. Provide safety supervision on the playground and in the cafeteria, assist with preparing classrooms and materials, communicate progress and concerns to parents, and contribute to planning and coordinating lessons. Require CPR certification within 30 days of hire and a background/fingerprint clearance per district requirements.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED
- Completion of 60 College Credit Hours or Associate’s Degree from an accredited college or university, or successfully passed a Arizona State approved paraprofessional test
- Must receive CPR certification within thirty days of hire
