Job Summary
Facilitate ARD Committee meetings and collaborate with students, parents, and staff to develop Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for assigned students. Coordinate instructional goals, select accommodations, and assess student progress annually while maintaining open communication with families and colleagues. Compile, maintain, and file all required reports and documents in compliance with federal, state, and district regulations. Participate in district professional development and attend compliance meetings. Occasionally travel to facilities within the district. Maintain emotional control under stress and adhere to FERPA and HIPAA confidentiality standards.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from accredited college or university
- Valid teaching certificate for subject\grade level assigned
- 3 years teaching experience
- Knowledge of special needs of students in assigned area
- Knowledge of Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) Committee process and Individual Educational Plan (IEP) goal setting process an implementation
- General knowledge of curriculum and instruction
- Ability to work well with a diverse population
- Must be able to maintain emotional control under stress
- Occasionally required to travel to facilities within the district
Desired Qualifications
- Special Education certification preferred
