Job Summary
Assist special education teachers in providing physical and instructional support for students with disabilities in a Structured Learning Classroom. Prepare instructional materials, manage administrative records, and help manage student behavior while supporting personal care needs. Supervise students throughout the school day, inside and outside the classroom, and adapt to individual special needs per Individualized Educational Plans. Maintain confidentiality and participate in staff development training. Work with frequent interruptions and require lifting up to 25 lbs. This role supports children with autism and communication disorders in a highly structured environment aligned with Applied Behavior Analysis principles.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED
- Ability to work with children with disabilities
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Knowledge of general office equipment
- Must be able to lift 25lbs
- Must be able to fulfill all responsibilities and duties as assigned
Desired Qualifications
- Associates degree or two years of higher education
- Must complete SBEC certification process to obtain an Educational Aide Certification
