Job Summary
Assist the teacher in preparing instructional materials, maintaining classroom organizational structure, and collecting individualized student data. Provide orientation to substitute teachers and offer inclusion support in general and special education settings. Execute verbal and physical de-escalation strategies while working with individual students or small groups to address emotional, behavioral, and social needs. Supervise students throughout the school day inside and outside the classroom, adapting to each student's individualized requirements. Maintain confidentiality and participate in assigned staff development training. This role supports students with significant behavioral and emotional challenges in the Specialized Behavior Support program at Frisco ISD.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED
- Ability to work with children with emotional and/or behavioral disabilities
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
- Ability to communicate effectively with students, as well as special education and general education staff
- Knowledge of general office equipment
- Ability to collect accurate student data
- Must be able to lift 25lbs
- Ability to maintain emotional control under stress
- Ability to assume shared responsibility for the health, safety, and confidentiality of all students and adults
Desired Qualifications
- Associate degree or two years of higher education
- SBEC certification
