Job Summary
Special Education Aide supporting students with disabilities under general supervision of a certified teacher. Assists in instructional programs, including self-help, behavior management, and classroom activities; prepares instructional materials, maintains orderly classrooms, and supports substitute teachers. Provides student supervision throughout the day (lunch, bus, playground); assists with personal care needs (feeding, bathroom, mobility) and supports students with physical disabilities in line with safety protocols. Maintains records, assists with equipment and inventory, and participates in professional development and district activities. Must have a high school diploma or associate degree and Texas educational aide certificate (or ability to obtain).
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Associate degree or 48 semester hours of college credit
- Current Texas educational aide certificate or ability to obtain
- Some experience working with children
