Job Summary
Provide instructional assistance to students under the direct supervision of a certified teacher; assist in preparing, conducting, and managing classroom activities. Support instruction in reading, writing, and mathematics; work with individual students or small groups; assist teacher in preparing instructional materials and classroom displays; assist with administration and scoring of objective tests; help maintain a neat and orderly classroom; assist with inventory, care, and maintenance of equipment; help teachers keep administrative records and prepare reports; provide orientation to substitutes; participate in staff development and faculty events; perform duties as required by federal guidelines.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Texas educational aide certificate-Preferred
- College Hours preferred - Associate’s degree, two years of study at an institution of higher learning, or have met formal academic assessment as required by the No Child Left Behind Act
