Job Summary
Special Education Aide responsible for supporting special education students through instructional activities and IEP-driven plans. Collaborate with students, parents, and staff to develop IEPs via ARD, implement instructional/therapeutic programs, assess learning styles, adapt curricula, and use varied instructional media. Participate in ARD meetings, select instructional media, and assist in supervising aides and volunteers. Maintain safe, supportive classroom environments; uphold district policies; manage behavior per IEP; plan and oversee SHARS billing monthly; communicate with parents and staff; and support extracurricular activities as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from accredited university
- Valid Texas teaching certificate with required special education endorsements for assignment
- Knowledge of ARD Committee process and IEP goal setting
- Knowledge of adapting curriculum for special needs
- Effective communication skills
- Student teaching, approved internship, or related work experience
