Special Education Aide

Provide instructional assistance to students under the direct supervision of a certified teacher; assist in preparing, conducting, and managing classroom activities. Support reading, writing, and mathematics instruction; manage small groups or individual students; help prepare instructional materials and classroom displays; assist with administration and scoring of tests and maintaining records; orient substitute teachers; supervise students during lunch, bus, and playground; participate in staff development and faculty events. Requires a Texas educational aide certificate and typically a high school diploma or GED, with associates degree or two years of college coursework as an acceptable alternative.
