Special Education Aide (7 hrs./day)

Assist special education and general education teachers in achieving objectives by working with individual students or small groups. Provide physical assistance, monitor assigned students, and establish supportive relationships while serving as a resource for evaluation teams. Support students with special needs per Individualized Education Programs, collaborate with staff to meet student needs, and use strategies to de-escalate challenging behaviors. Encourage positive behaviors, reinforce social interactions, and support participation in general education classrooms. Engage in ongoing training to stay informed about best practices. Perform other duties as assigned. Ten-month year; salary established by the Board.
