Job Summary
Assist the Special Education Teacher in implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) and support students in both group and one-on-one settings with academic tasks, social skills, and classroom activities. Help maintain a positive, inclusive classroom environment and provide hands-on assistance during lessons, projects, and adaptive physical education. Monitor and record student progress to provide feedback while fostering a caring atmosphere where students feel safe and understood. This role offers a pathway for professional growth within Aiken County Public Schools, providing ongoing training and resources for educators.
Required Qualifications
- Meets Highly Qualified standards as defined by the Every Student Succeeds Act: Associate's Degree preferred, or High School diploma or general education degree with 60 hours college credit from an accredited college, or passing score on the ParaPro exam.
- Experience working with children.
