Job Summary

The READS Collaborative Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) Program in Norton, MA (with a satellite in Taunton, MA) seeks an Administrator of Special Education to support the Program Director in implementing MA DESE regulations for the DHH program serving PreK-12+ students who are Deaf and/or Hard-of-Hearing. Responsibilities include facilitating IEP team meetings, liaising with principals and districts, coordinating family engagement, ensuring compliance with IDEA/Section 504 and MA regulations, coordinating audits and state monitoring, promoting inclusive practices and least restrictive environment, assisting in referrals and observation/evaluation of staff, maintaining positive public relations, aligning program design with current research, and supporting MCAS/test administration along with training personnel. The role requires leadership experience in special education, knowledge of Deaf education, and strong communication and organizational skills, with a focus on equity and culturally responsive practices. Employment terms are non-bargaining unit, 205 days, with a pay range of $90,000-$115,000.

Required Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Special Education, Educational Leadership, or related field
  • DESE Special Education Administrator License or ability to obtain
  • Strong knowledge of Massachusetts and Federal special education laws and regulations
  • Experience with IEP development and implementation
  • Experience chairing Team meetings
  • Fluent in American Sign Language or willingness to learn
  • Knowledge of general child development and language development related to Deaf and Hard of Hearing students or willingness to learn
  • Knowledge of current trends and best practices in education, especially as it relates to Deaf education or willingness to learn
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Commitment to equity, inclusion, and culturally responsive practices
