Special Education- Academic Seminar I

Plan a program of study meeting individual student needs and prepare for assigned classes with documented evidence. Encourage students to maintain classroom behavior standards while implementing district educational goals. Maintain accurate student records and assist administration in enforcing policies governing student life and conduct. Plan and supervise teacher aide assignments, evaluating their performance and developing transition plans for postsecondary outcomes. Work proactively with teams to develop Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and review them with parents, administrators, and general education teachers. Confer with professionals to differentiate instruction for students with disabilities and serve on staff committees. Inform parents of progress and participate in staff development activities to maintain professional competence.
