Job Summary
Assist teachers by working with individual students on a one-to-one basis, providing support for mild/moderate behavioral or academic needs, including hygiene assistance, health and safety monitoring, and behavior intervention plan implementation. Facilitate small group and individual instruction for students with learning differences while monitoring their progress and providing input for evaluation. Establish meaningful relationships with referred students to improve behavior, educational performance, and social connections, and perform clerical duties such as typing, completing forms, and note-taking. This part-time, hourly role supports High Tech High's design principles of equity and personalization within its San Diego County network.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma/GED
- An Associate's degree (or higher)
- 48 or more eligible units of coursework at a recognized college or university
- Met a rigorous standard of quality and can demonstrate, through a formal State or local academic assessment, knowledge of, and the ability to assist in instructing, reading (or readiness), writing (or readiness), and mathematics (or readiness)
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in a school/learning environment
- Experience with ABA strategies
- Experience with student medical needs
