Job Summary
Special Education Teacher for a self-contained K-1 classroom in Yorkville, IL. Develop and implement IEPs for students with disabilities, provide differentiated instruction in one-on-one, small group, and inclusive settings, adapt lesson plans to meet diverse needs, assess progress with data-driven decisions, collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, and support staff, participate in IEP meetings, student evaluations, and parent-teacher conferences, maintain records per ISBE/IDEA guidelines, implement BIPs and classroom management strategies, and ensure compliance with ISBE and IDEA guidelines.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Special Education from an accredited program
- Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with a Special Education Endorsement (issued by the Illinois State Board of Education – ISBE)
- LBS1 (Learning Behavior Specialist I) endorsement required
- Experience with IEP development and implementation
- Fingerprint Clearance & Background Check required
