Job Summary
Collaborate with students, parents, and staff to develop Individualized Education Programs through the ARD Committee process. Implement instructional, therapeutic, or skill development programs while conducting ongoing assessments of student achievement. Deliver instruction in accordance with each student's IEP using varied techniques and modify curriculum as needed for inclusion. Manage student behavior, provide personal care and medical support, and supervise instructional aides. Participate in professional development, maintain required documentation, and follow district safety protocols. Report to the Principal at an assigned campus.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university
- Valid Texas teaching certificate with required special education endorsement(s) for assignment
- Knowledge of the needs of students with disabilities in assigned area
- Knowledge of the ARD Committee process and Individualized Education Program (IEP) development and implementation
- Knowledge of curriculum adaptation and differentiated instructional strategies
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Student teaching, approved internship, or related experience
