Job Summary
Conduct daily instructional support and classroom management duties for students with special needs across 185 days of the year. Deliver 6.5 hours of direct student assistance each day from Monday through Friday while adhering to Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals. Maintain accurate documentation of student progress and communicate regularly with teachers and families regarding behavioral and academic interventions. Apply for the required Illinois State Board of Education license (PARA, STA, SUB, or PEL) prior to employment if not currently held.
Required Qualifications
- Applicants must hold at least ONE of the following licenses through the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE):
- Paraprofessional License (PARA)
- Short Term Approval for Paraprofessionals (STA)
- Substitute License (SUB)
- Professional Educator License (PEL)
