Job Summary
Special Delivery Unit RN responsible for maternal care across antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum within the new SDU. The role supports triage, LDRP suites, and ORs, and participates in fetal intervention procedures as part of a coordinated fetal care program. The nurse serves as a unit resource during designated shifts, aids in patient flow/placement, and ensures care aligns with CHOC’s policies and high standards. Requires L&D experience, BSN, California RN licensure, and obstetric/fetal monitoring expertise. The role emphasizes teamwork, problem-solving, and maintaining patient safety in a high-energy, family-centered environment.
Required Qualifications
- RN license in California (BLS, NRP, ACLS, AWHONN fetal monitoring/C-EFM)
- BSN from accredited program
- Minimum two (2) years of Labor and Delivery experience
- Ability to set goals and judge results; promote teamwork; strong communication; critical thinking
