Job Summary
Special Credits Risk Vice President to manage and resolve stressed and distressed credits, serving as primary credit officer within the Private Bank lending practice. Responsibilities include restructuring problem credits, guiding negotiations with clients and external legal counsel to maximize recovery, developing exit strategies, authoring Credit Surveillance reports, and advising on loan loss reserve recommendations for large nonperforming exposures. The role involves coordinating risk management, ensuring compliance with firm policies, leading ad hoc risk projects, and engaging with regulatory authorities through workshops as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Master’s degree preferred
- Experience in credit risk role with track record of exceeding performance expectations
- Highly organized, motivated with exceptional written and verbal communication
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Significant accounting and finance knowledge
- Expertise in loan structuring and problem credit workout
- Experience with complex finance structures, negotiating, credit analysis and portfolio management
- Understanding of creditor rights and enforcement strategies
- Experience working with lawyers on enforcement and bankruptcy litigation
- Knowledge of lien perfection and priority
