Job Summary
Provide strategic advice and representation across matters before the Magistrates' Court of Victoria, the County Court of Victoria, and the Supreme Court of Victoria. Manage a litigation caseload with ownership of client relationships, mentoring junior lawyers while delivering technically excellent, government-focused advice. Apply deep knowledge of the Accident Compensation Act, Work Injury Rehabilitation and Compensation Act, and Transport Accident Act 1986 to complex statutory compensation mandates. Work autonomously within a collaborative Melbourne-based team supporting WorkSafe Victoria and the Transport Accident Commission.
Required Qualifications
- At least 5 years' post-admission and technical experience in statutory compensation law
- Knowledge of the Accident Compensation Act
- Knowledge of the Work Injury Rehabilitation and Compensation Act
- Knowledge of the Transport Accident Act 1986
- Ability to provide strategic advice and representation across matters before the Magistrates' Court of Victoria, the County Court of Victoria and the Supreme Court of Victoria
- Strong client relationship and file management skills
- Commitment to delivering technically excellent advice in a timely manner
- Maturity and self-motivation to take responsibility for the day-to-day management of a litigation caseload
- High level of technical excellence and attention to detail
- Strong client-service mindset
- Demonstrated experience building and maintaining trusted client relationships

Desired Qualifications
- Experience acting for WorkSafe and TAC
- Experience in adjacent practice areas — including insurance, personal injuries litigation and HR/IR
