Job Summary
Setup and run special products, prototypes, and tooling on CNC lathes and horizontal mills, then inspect parts for quality against appropriate plans. Input program variables to achieve print specifications and perform root cause analysis on issues, notifying support groups as needed. Process orders according to schedule or supervisor direction, stage products for subsequent operations, and deburr parts as required. You must be able to lift 30 pounds or more, work on your feet for 8–12 hours, and follow established schedules. This Associate-level role reports to the Mill Holders Supervisor and supports the manufacturing of holders and tooling.
Required Qualifications
- High school graduate or GED equivalent
- Ability to lift 32 lbs
- Able to push loads of 100lbs
- Ability to use calipers, micrometers, indicators, scales and other inspection equipment
- On feet 8-12 hrs
- Follow schedules
Desired Qualifications
- AMEC Apprentice graduate or current student
- Working knowledge in the manufacture of holders
- In depth knowledge of blueprint reading
- Experience in the use of optical comparator and other inspection equipment
- CNC machine set up and operation
- Experience in programming and trigonometry
- Previous grinding, milling, and turning operations
- Ability to organize, communicates, and plan activities
