Job Summary
Special Care Aide providing hands-on personal care including bathing, grooming, oral hygiene, and dressing; assist with meal and snack preparation; perform housekeeping tasks (laundry, cleaning bathrooms, wiping surfaces, and mopping); support clients with errands and essential shopping; observe and report medication concerns to supervisor; escort or transport clients to appointments when approved; monitor client condition and report changes to the plan of care; maintain accurate timesheets and reports; accept short-term, on-call assignments with flexibility; lead a team of caregivers; travel to clients’ homes in the Worcester, MA area; requires HS diploma or GED, 2 years of care experience, compassionate, dependable, and patient-focused demeanor; ability to lift at least 50 lbs.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Minimum of 2 years providing care to elderly and/or disabled individuals in a home or healthcare setting
- Compassionate, dependable, and patient-focused
- Strong communication skills and professional demeanor
- Organized, flexible, and able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Reliable personal transportation required
- Ability to lift at least 50 lbs, ability to sit, stand, bend, and move intermittently
- Able to work in a mentally demanding, high-stress environment
