Job Summary
Design and produce digital communications products including social media graphics, presentations, and website content using Canva or Adobe Photoshop while maintaining established branding. Collaborate with the Chief of Strategic Communications to translate campaign concepts into engaging digital materials and assist in managing social media platforms by scheduling posts, maintaining editorial calendars, and monitoring audience engagement. Research historical resources, draft copy, and support public outreach activities, special events, and strategic communications initiatives as assigned. Assist with photography and basic photo editing for Division events, lectures, and ceremonies. Accomplish all tasks appropriately assigned or requested. This role supports the Marine Corps History Division's mission to promote engagement with its activities and historical resources.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in history, education, marketing, communications, or similar
- Proficiency in graphic design and video editing software
- Basic understanding of social media platforms and their respective audiences
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Creative mindset with the ability to produce visually appealing content
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Ability to quickly adapt to a fast-paced environment and perform multiple tasks effectively
- Verify authorization to work in the United States
- Passing a post-offer background check
- Ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to visit other locations
- Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and manipulate light to medium weights of 10-20 pounds
- Good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp
- Visual acuity to use a keyboard
- Ability to reach with hands and arms
- Ability to talk and hear both in person and over devices
- Ability to interact in close spaces and frequently with other workers, vendors, and clients
- Ability to resolve conflict
