Job Summary
The Special Assets Manager will supervise staff handling bankruptcy and charged-off accounts, establishing the bank's position in bankruptcy cases, attending court hearings, preparing and filing required documentation, and collaborating with legal counsel. The role involves overseeing repossession and foreclosure processes, keeping accurate records for audits, and negotiating repayment terms with customers. The manager is responsible for monitoring bankruptcy cases, generating reports for management, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements such as the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA). An emphasis on superior customer service and teamwork within the department is essential.
Required Qualifications
- 4 year degree or equivalent of 3-5 years related experience.
- Familiarity with the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with bankruptcy and charged-off account management.
- Proficient in collections software, specifically IBS CARM-Pro.
