Job Summary
The Health & Safety Specialist collaborates with internal departments in managing medical, workers compensation, DOT, and Process Safety Management activities. Key responsibilities include investigating and resolving incidents, conducting job hazard analyses, updating safety programs, and delivering safety training. Required skills include strong problem-solving abilities, functional/technical expertise, and excellent interpersonal skills. A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and certifications in First Aid & CPR along with HAZWOPER training are necessary, along with a minimum of three years of applicable experience.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors’ degree in Occupational Health, Safety, Engineering, Biology or other relevant discipline
- Combination of Associates’ degree and experience may be substituted for 4 year degree
- First Aid & CPR certification
- Completion of HAZWOPER training at technician level
- Minimum three (3) years applicable experience in a similar environment
- Experience in applying OSHA, DOT, and Workers Compensation regulations
Desired Qualifications
- Strong computer literacy (Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Multi-lingual skills (strongly preferred)
- Strong customer-centric attitude
- High energy level and a strong sense of urgency
