Job Summary
ESE Specialist provides site-based support for students with disabilities, collaborating with school staff, administrators, and district leadership to coordinate curriculum, instruction, behavior supports, compliance, and program decisions. Responsibilities include delivering instruction and supports aligned with IEPs, organizing services for students with disabilities, applying advanced instructional and behavioral practices, coordinating professional development with ESE leadership, ensuring IDEA/FAPE compliance and accurate FTE reporting, and serving as a liaison among parents, teachers, and district personnel to improve graduation outcomes. The role requires active collaboration with administrators, teachers, and families, and ongoing professional growth to stay current with ESE best practices.
Required Qualifications
- Florida Professional Educator Certificate in Exceptional Student Education
- Three years of increasingly responsible and effective teaching experience with students with disabilities (preferred in Hillsborough County Public Schools)
