Job Summary
The Exceptional Student Education (ESE) Specialist will provide site-based support in all areas of exceptional student education. The role collaborates with school, region, and district staff to support curriculum, instruction, behavior, compliance, and programmatic decisions, ensuring FAPE and improving outcomes for students with disabilities. Responsibilities include direct instruction and supports for students with disabilities, organizing and coordinating supports, applying advanced instructional and behavioral strategies, data collection and analysis, delivering job-embedded professional development in coordination with the ESE leadership, ensuring implementation of IDEA/state/district requirements, maintaining effective communication with stakeholders, serving as a liaison among school, parents, district staff, and community groups, and building teacher capacity through collaborative systems. The position requires Florida Professional Educator Certificate in ESE and three years of relevant teaching experience in Hillsborough County Public Schools. Physical demands and other policies align with district standards. Location: Tampa, Florida.
