Job Summary
The Exceptional Student Education (ESE) Specialist provides site-based support for students with disabilities, collaborating with school, regional, and district staff to support curriculum, instruction, behavior, compliance, and program decisions. Responsibilities include direct instruction and support for students with disabilities, organizing and coordinating ESE services, applying advanced instructional and behavioral strategies, delivering job-embedded professional development in coordination with district leadership, ensuring compliance with IDEA/state statutes and FTE reporting, and serving as a liaison among parents, teachers, students, and administrators. Requires collaboration to improve graduation outcomes, maintain up-to-date ESE practices, and maintain appropriate certifications. Must hold Florida Professional Educator Certificate in ESE and have three years of relevant teaching experience in Hillsborough County Public Schools.
