Job Summary
Cross-Categorical Special Education Teacher responsible for delivering differentiated instruction within a collaborative model, co-teaching with a general education teacher, and implementing individual behavioral intervention plans. Role emphasizes classroom management, IEP development/completion, data-driven instruction through formative and summative assessments, differentiation to meet diverse learner needs, and collaboration with families and colleagues to improve instructional practices. Located in South Bend, Indiana with on-site duties; requires Indiana special education licensure and being Highly Qualified.
Required Qualifications
- State of Indiana Special Education License in Mild Disabilities/Intervention
- Highly Qualified
- Experience completing IEPs
- Differentiated instruction experience
- Formative assessments to guide reading instruction
- Collaborative experience with colleagues
- Classroom management
- Knowledge of research-based instructional strategies for special education
- Experience analyzing data to differentiate instruction
- Experience collaborating with families and diverse student backgrounds
