Job Summary
Develop and maintain training programs for all SPD and Endoscopy staff, delivering instruction and evaluating participant skill attainment on a scheduled basis. Conduct annual needs assessments to assess competency and proficiency, then utilize various methodologies to ensure maximum training effectiveness. Monitor and measure program outcomes, document results, and report issues while revising online courses and competencies based on departmental changes and new regulations. Provide individualized orientation and education for instrument care, SPD, and Endoscopy staff, including overseeing new hire orientation and updating perioperative departments on instrument processing and tray care. Maintain certification records and education calendars for mandatory and site-specific presentations.
Required Qualifications
- Current certification from HSPA (Healthcare Sterile Processing Association) or CBSPD (Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution )
- Five years of experience in SPD with 2 years as Supervisor/manager in SPD and at least 3 years as SPD Tech
- Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent experience
Desired Qualifications
- CER (Certified Endoscopy Reprocessor), CIS (Certified Instrument Specialist), and CHL (Certified Healthcare Leadership)
