Job Summary
As a SPD or CSR Tech in the Sterilization Processing Department, you will ensure that all surgical supplies, instruments, scopes, and equipment are inventoried, decontaminated, assembled, inspected, packaged, sterilized, stored, distributed, and tracked safely and efficiently. Key responsibilities include decontaminating and cleaning instruments, inspecting and packaging surgical sets, operating sterilization equipment, and maintaining inventory. Preferred qualifications include previous SPD Technician experience and knowledge of aseptic techniques.
Required Qualifications
- SPD Technician experience
- High school graduate
- Certification (CRCST) preferred; must be achieved within 12 months of starting and maintained annually
- Equivalent SPD experience
Desired Qualifications
- Strong verbal, interpersonal, and communication skills
- Basic computer skills
- Knowledge of aseptic technique, microbiology, and medical terminology
- Ability to multi-task and work under pressure
- Collaboration skills
