Job Summary
HR Business Partner role supporting Smurfit WestRock facilities in Montgomery, Cullman, and Athens AL. Responsible for employee relations, talent acquisition, performance management, talent management, and HR metrics; partners with front-line employees and supervisors to foster positive relations; develops disciplinary actions, ensures legal compliance (EEO, FMLA, ADA, wage/hour laws), coaches managers on HR policies, supports recruitment and onboarding, investigates employee relations questions, conducts training on sexual harassment, diversity and employment law, and participates in safety and performance-excellence processes. Travel as required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree preferred in HR, organizational development, communications or business
- 3-5 years of Human Resources experience
- SHRM or HRCI certifications are a plus
- Strong written, verbal, and presentation communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and HRIS systems
- Ability to investigate and resolve employee relations issues
- Travel as required
