Job Summary
Loads, unloads and moves materials within plant/yard/site, reading work orders or following oral instructions to move materials. Handles pallets, trays, racks and shelves; installs strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit; conveys materials from storage to designated areas; signals crane/hoisting operators; attaches labels/tags; records units moved on a production sheet; may fill in for vacations or department needs. Requires safe work practices, regular attendance, effective communication, and ability to operate with inventory/manufacturing/order-processing software. Driver's license required; physical demands include standing, walking, lifting up to 100 pounds; familiarity with basic math and reading/comprehension; adherence to housekeeping and safety standards.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Drivers' License Required
- Ability to lift up to 100 pounds
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to write simple correspondence
- Ability to effectively present information to customers, clients, and other employees
