Spanish Pedagogy: Spanish Teaching BA Program Coordinator, FT CFS Professional

Job Summary
Teach Spanish courses in the BA program, coordinate student recruitment and mentoring, and lead accreditation and curriculum development efforts. Supervise student teachers through placement, supervision, and evaluation while providing mentor training and professional learning support. Conduct clinical observations at partner school districts and participate in departmental, college, and university committees. Maintain current field knowledge through professional development activities. This professional-track position requires a 4-3-2 course load or equivalent supervisory duties, with a start date of August 1, 2027. Applicants must hold an MA (PhD preferred) completed prior to the start date and demonstrate fluency in Spanish and English.
Required Qualifications
- MA required
- PhD preferred in Foreign Language Education, Applied Linguistics, Second Language Acquisition, Curriculum and Instruction, or similar emphasis
- The required degree must be completed prior to the start date

- Experience teaching Spanish courses at the university level is required
- teaching/administrative experience in public K-12 schools is preferred
- Fluency in written and spoken Spanish and English is also required
- Relocate and/or reside in Utah for the duration of their employment
- All new employees who are members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will be required to hold and be worthy to hold a current temple recommend
- All faculty are required to abide by the university's Honor Code and Dress & Grooming Standards
