Job Summary
Teach intensive, one-on-one Spanish language courses for adult professionals onsite in Riverside, CA, starting August 24, 2026, for a six-month duration. Deliver instruction using the communicative approach to language learning while assessing student styles and adjusting methods accordingly. Utilize Microsoft Office Suite and virtual platforms like Zoom, Skype, or MS Teams for remote support when required. Maintain interculturally harmonious interactions within a distributed team while working independently with strong time management skills. Candidates must be educated Spanish speakers with cultural background from the region and two years of classroom experience teaching Spanish to adult English-speaking students.
Required Qualifications
- Educated speaker of Spanish
- 2+ year(s) of classroom experience teaching Spanish language to adult English-speaking students
- 1+ year(s) of teaching experience in a small-group classroom setting
- Must possess the cultural background of the country and geographical region
- Teaching Spanish as a foreign language
- Familiar with teaching with the communicative approach to language teaching
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to assess the learning style of the student and adjust teaching accordingly
- Ability to work independently and effectively as part of a distributed team
- Strong time management and problem-solving abilities
- Instructors must be able to work interculturally in a harmonious and professional manner
Desired Qualifications
- Familiarity with the communicative approach to language learning, ILR proficiency scale levels and OPI assessments
